Coca-Cola Fridge Pouch

November 29, 2011

Gallon and half-gallon sized stand up FridgePouches

Challenges Addressed:

Improving the Consumer Experience
Sustainability

Background & Printpack Solution: Coca-Cola was interested in a flexible, stand up pouch for their restaurant chain partners for ‘To Go’ beverages. The traditional rigid HDPE jug took up too much space in the restaurants; about 100 of our empty pouches can fit in the same space as 6 traditional gallon jugs. Printpack designed a one gallon stand-up pouch that was robust enough to hold 8+ pounds of non-carbonated beverage without sagging or tipping over in the refrigerator, and also very user friendly. The pouch has a unique spout (supplied by partner IPN), that allows the restaurant worker to fill the FridgePouch directly from the fountain or tea dispenser. Additionally, the handle style and placement make it easy for the consumer to carry the pouch without discomfort, and also pour from the pouch without spillage. There is also a Half Gallon size that has been commercialized.

Result:
Increased Sales in the Quick Serve Restaurant channel
