Pouches are being used in a variety of markets including pet food, cereal, snacks, candy, dried fruit, lawn and garden and shelf stable foods. Consumers especially like packages that have a resealable zipper, a feature commonly found in stand-up pouches. Marketers view the stand-up pouch as a great way to differentiate their product from the competition. Pouches give creative retailers more flexibility and new opportunities to display products in customized racks or innovative pallet displays. Some manufacturers see the stand-up pouch as an opportunity to reduce the amount of packaging material used by replacing the bag-in-box format.
