The Flexible Packaging Association has awarded Printpack three 2008 FPA Awards in three separate categories.

AgroLabs’ Naturally line of nutritional supplements was given a Silver award in the Environmental and Sustainability Achievement category. The original package utilizing a cardboard box and two pressure sensitive labels was redesigned in response to requests from club store retailers for source reduction. A full sleeve shrink label made from NatureWorks® biopolymer film, a more environmentally friendly shrink film, replaced the labels and box in the new configuration. The shrink label, manufactured, converted and printed by Seal-It, a Division of Printpack, is rotogravure printed using 10 colors. The label covers the entire bottle, conforming to its shape, and provides a 360-degree image area for attractive, eye-catching graphics as well as all of the product information that was previously printed on the box.

The Daniele® Delizia Presidents Sliced Meats Re-Seal It Package was given a Gold award in the Packaging Excellence category. This package combines proprietary label technology with high performance barrier films. The outstanding package feature is an easy opening/reclose for the consumer. High rotogravure graphics combined with a clear window maximizes shelf impact. A smaller package size allows more SKU’s to be put in the same store "real estate". Other unique features include tamper evidence, savings from reduction of package size, low material waste, and solid waste reduction vs. a clamshell or tub.

The Plumrose Supreme Center Cut Bacon Re-Seal It Package received a Silver award in the Technical Innovation category. Plumrose chose the Re-Seal It package because it was designed and engineered with the consumer, retailer, and food processor in mind. The Re-Seal It packaging system provides an innovative easy to open label with repeatable resealability for meat and related thermoform packaging applications.
