On Wednesday, March 1, the Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) awarded Printpack a Silver Award for Printing and Shelf Impact on the Starbucks Coffee Chiapas.
Chiapas is a limited edition coffee offering from Starbucks. Chiapas coffee is grown on the slopes of Mexico’s Sierra Madre de Chiapas, which is home to a diverse variety of wildlife, including tapirs, quetzals, and the occasional jaguar. Starbucks chose the jaguar to star on this beautiful, eye-catching package which is a rotogravure printed 4-ply laminate with spot matte lacquer.
Starbucks is intimately involved with the artistic design of its packages as well as specifying inks and coatings and how they are used. They have a very clear vision of how they want their packages to look, and Printpack makes that happen with high-end rotogravure printing. This collaboration results in stunning packaging with a truly next-level shelf presence that elevates coffee from a mere commodity to a work of art. This is a bag that consumers will not only want to purchase but also will want to leave out on the counter.
Printpack is honored to be recognized by the FPA for its printing excellence.
