American Heart Association
Since it’s inception in 1976, the Gay and Erskine Love Foundation has given financial support to the American Heart Association. The Love family became particularly interested in 1987, when Printpack’s founder J. Erskine Love, Jr. died of a heart attack. His wife, Gay, became personally involved as a volunteer for the annual Heart Ball, even chairing it one year. Mrs. Love recruited her daughters-in-law and they got involved as well.In 2008, John Brennan, Executive Vice President of the Greater Southeast Affiliate of the American Heart Association, presented Printpack with the very first Heart Ready award in the state of Georgia. This award was for Printpack’s leadership efforts in the AHA’s Restart Atlanta’s Hearts campaign to increase survival after sudden heart attack. Mrs. Love and Printpack worked diligently to train each and every associate at the corporate headquarters in first responder CPR and the use of an AED.

The American Heart Association is one of the two charities with which Printpack is involved at a corporate level. Each year, the Atlanta and Villa Rica associates raise money for the Atlanta Heart Walk and Printpack President Dennis Love commits to a matching gift from the Love Foundation based on what the associates raise. Other plants in the US participate in their local Heart Walks as well, as do the UK associates.
