ATLANTA, GA — Printpack announced today that its near-term and net-zero emissions targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Printpack strives to continually demonstrate its Purpose, Preserving and Enhancing People’s Lives, by our commitment to sustainable products, active involvement in our local communities, continuous plant improvements, and the empowerment of all our associates. With investments in leading edge technologies and a deep understanding of customer needs, Printpack has long partnered with the most successful CPGs to launch new sustainable products. Now, Printpack is accelerating this impact through recently validated Science Based Targets that set clear pathways for emission reductions in our value chain.
Both ambitious and far-reaching, Printpack’s goal is to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its value chain by 2050.
Printpack has set near-term targets to maintain progress towards our overall goal to be net-zero GHG by 2050. The near-term targets aim to reduce Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% from 2023 (base year) to 2030 and to partner with key suppliers and customers—representing 67% of our Scope 3 emissions—to develop science-based targets by 2030.
With these near-term targets, the long-term target aims to reduce absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions by 90% from 2023 (base year) to 2050.
The urgency of these commitments lies in the need to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, a threshold identified by scientists as critical to avoiding the most severe impacts of climate change. Printpack views its validated targets as a real step toward aligning business growth with the global climate imperative.

About the Science Based Targets initiative
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a corporate climate action organization that enables companies and financial institutions worldwide to play their part in combating the climate crisis.
SBTi develops standards, tools, and guidance that enable companies to establish greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets aligned with the need to keep global heating below catastrophic levels and achieve net-zero by 2050 at the latest.
The SBTi is incorporated as a charity, with a subsidiary that will host its target validation services. Its partners are CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the We Mean Business Coalition, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
